To all my dear friends who supported Sen. McCain
Do not let this tear us appart:
Although we are in a time of great change. Indeed there is some tribulation on your part about who we as A NATION elected as the 44th president of these United States. I ask you not to run in fear. Not to bash or take low blows on the man the majority of us decided was worthy enough to save our great country. I ask you to rise to the occasion. Have faith that this wasn't a popularity contest. This was an election. And a very very gracious and close one at that. I ask you to challege President Elect Obama to back up what he talked. Do not turn your back on the decision 08' just yet.
I ask you.. most importantly.. do not turn your back on those who would stand for Barack Obama. Keep this in mind. We are all Americans. Weither it be an issue with race or politics. We are all trying to do what is right for our beloved country. Trying to make this place the land of milk and honey again instead of the land of paper and oil.
I love you all from heart to heart, from patriot to patriot. Do not stand down defeated and angry. Stand up STAND TOGATHER ready to make Obama prove himself rightfully as our leader, our great commander, Our President.
United we stand, divided we fall, I love you all so much.
Ashley
I wrote this to a bunch of my friends on myspace who are McCain supporters. Alot of them where immature and being what we are all fighting so hard to stop, racist and divided. Some of them came to their senses shortly after the democratic victory and realized that this is going to be our president and decided to support him.
Some, however, where giving racial slurs and very tasteless blows and even hopes of death to a man they haven't taken the time to get to know as a person or a political figure. It is rightfully so that they are taken aback at the loss of their candidate. But I, as I'm sure you, feel that there is no need for hate crime or wishes of terrible things on a man the majority of us chose to be our President.
I am sad that there can not be even a bit of understanding in this country. A little faith that we are not picking this man because he is black or talks pretty. It's this kind of attitude that has held us back from taking the step to actually being UNITED STATES. This attitude will continue to hold us back.
Freedom of speach not only gives us the right to think these things but to say them. It is our own morality that keeps the more civilized McCain supporters a chance to look past their feelings of defeat and hopelessness and see what we see in Barrack Obama. It also gives the less gracious ones a chance at petty verbal attacks.
I am send HUGE ammounts of love and light to The Obamas because this man has a very long and hard road ahead of him. I will stand by him as a person. Not as republican or democrate. Not as white or black. But as American and Human.
I also send huge amounts of love and light to all the people who supported McCain and don't have the decency to respect the chosen path. I hope they can look past the tip of their nose and see the wide world ahead. I do not want anyone left behind in our movement towards a more loving and unified exsistance. I want them to feel the great power of light and hope that this shift in energy and economy and brotherhood and sisterhood and EVERYTHING.
I love you all, every single one of you. Nothing can change that. You can accept it or reject it.. either way you still have it.
All my blessings to you my friends,
Ashley
